With at least 235,000 renovators requiring training about the Renovation, Repair, and Painting (RRP) Rule, NCHH understood that it needed to engage as many talented instructors as it could find; however, EPA's accreditation process and the documentation required for trainings can be a barrier for many instructors who would prefer to concentrate their efforts on training rather than paperwork and approvals.
In response to the challenge, NCHH has taken a novel approach to delivering the Certified Lead Renovator and Lead Dust Sampling Technician trainings. In essence, NCHH is the EPA-accredited training provider and handles the EPA-required documentation for its instructors. It also provides technical support to the instructors and uses its bulk buying power to procure course materials at a lower cost, should the instructor need them. The instructors make all the arrangements for the training delivery, including tuition and registration. Instructors are free to set whatever fees they feel are competitive in their respective geographic area.
As of June 2012, EPA has approved 110 principal instructors for NCHH. The following instructors have a written agreement with NCHH to deliver the certified renovator training, have successfully taught at least one class for NCHH, and are members in good standing. Please contact them directly to attend a training in your area.
