National Healthy Homes Month 2026

April is National Healthy Homes Month (NHHM), an opportunity to educate, raise awareness, motivate action, and build networks and partnerships in support of healthier home environments. In the past, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and other federal partners have emphasized the importance of testing homes and people, connected people and communities to resources to find and fix residential hazards, encouraged and strengthened partnerships, and motivated action and investment in improved housing quality.
For 2026, the National Healthy Homes Month theme is Healthy Homes for Everyone: Practical Actions. Shared Solutions. Lasting Impact. This theme is provided by the National Safe and Healthy Housing Coalition (NSHHC) and was shaped and chosen by NSHHC members through two rounds of open voting in December 2025 and February 2026.
