Resources for Real Estate Professionals

An estimated 57 million housing units nationwide have at least one health hazard, according to data from the U.S. Census. These hazards can cause illness, injury, and even death. Some hazards may be easy to spot during walk-throughs (mold, dust, pests, or deteriorated paint) while others may be hidden and require testing or professional assessment (lead paint and pipes, electrical and physical hazards, radon, carbon monoxide, and other poisons and carcinogens).

Why does this matter for your business?
Today’s buyers and renters are paying closer attention to these conditions, which highlights the importance for real estate professionals to have the tools and confidence to discuss these concerns with their clients. The National Center for Healthy Housing and its subsidiary, Healthy Housing Solutions, can help real estate professionals strengthen their expertise, confidently address client questions, and stand out in a competitive market.

The following resources will help you learn more about healthy housing and leverage our knowledge to provide added value to your business and clients and promote healthy housing features.
