Rosebell Onuma is a summer 2025 intern at the National Center for Healthy Housing, supporting the Translating Cancer Research project in partnership with ASTHO, CEHN, and the CDC. She recently earned her Bachelor of Science degree in environmental health from the University of Rochester, where she was a McNair and Posse Scholar. Rosebell’s academic and research interests focus on environmental toxicology, health disparities, and children’s environmental health. Her recent work investigated the bioaccumulation and immunological effects of microplastics in amphibian models. She is passionate about making environmental research accessible to impacted communities and informing policy that protects vulnerable populations. Originally from Nigeria, Rosebell is deeply committed to advancing environmental justice and promoting healthier living conditions for underserved communities. She will begin her PhD in toxicology at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry in fall 2025.
