Minnesota Department of Health Asthma Program

The Minnesota Department of Health’s Asthma Program has been receiving technical assistance from NCHH and other partner experts focused on evaluating and preparing for possible opportunities to host a large state-wide event or one-day conference aimed at generating excitement and action to move forward additional reimbursement for asthma home-based services. Minnesota currently offers asthma home-based services, mostly through local public health agencies, many of whom started providing these services after they participated in one of three MDH-sponsored pilot projects. The TA received has included receiving resources to use to help develop ideas about who should be at the table and where to focus efforts to move the needle on building reimbursement for asthma home-based services into routine practice for children with poorly controlled asthma.
