The Environmental Health Services Division of Public Health – Seattle & King County has been receiving technical assistance from NCHH and other partners to support county staff efforts to draft proviso language outlining a program to conduct outreach, education, and other activities related to preventing lead poisoning and addressing other environmental toxins and their health effects, including asthma, for submission to the King County Council. The proviso passed in December 2017 and the TA provided has shifted to working through the implementation phase to thoughtfully apply the articulated program design, investigate potential partnerships, and assess supplemental, novel funding sources to ensure long-term sustainability of the program.
